Cover Crop Business Accelerator

The Illinois Sustainable Ag Partnership is launching a Cover Crop Business Accelerator program for new and existing custom operator cover crop application businesses in Illinois, based on a program pioneered by Practical Farmers of Iowa.

To meet the growing need for local cover crop experts and application capacity, ISAP will be offering custom operator cover crop application businesses capital investment cost share, per acre incentives, business growth and agronomic support, and access to networking and outreach resources.

Benefits

  • Capital Cost Share: 10% of the cost of business or equipment expenses, up to $5,000
  • Custom Seeding Incentive: $3/acre, up to $5,000

Eligibility

This program is for farmers and entrepreneurs looking to open or grow a cover crop application business in Illinois.

Program Requirements

  • Have a strong desire to grow an existing business or create a new business that applies cover crops
  • Meet with an ISAP team member
  • Engage with other participants through mentorship or networking opportunities.
  • Do business in Illinois
