McLean County Conservation Tour

McLean County Soil and Water Conservation District, in partnership with local organizations, will host a conservation tour on Thursday, April 9. This hands-on event will highlight current conservation research and in-field practices, offering participants the opportunity to learn about tile drainage research, the role of cover crops in nutrient runoff management and emerging opportunities such as pennycress and biomass-to-energy systems. The program will also feature a farmer panel discussing real-world conservation practices, followed by a provided lunch.

Attendees should be prepared to walk through field conditions during the tour. Those interested in participating are encouraged to register by April 1, 2026.
