Farmers Farming with Insects

When it comes to insects, farming is often done from an “Us vs. Them” mentality. But emerging alternatives are agriculturally productive, creative, and friendly to insect life on which so much other life depends. Hear from two innovative row crop farmers – one from Iowa (Paul Mugge) and one from Montana (Anna Jones-Crabtree) – using life-friendly farming practices. You’ll learn about their practical lessons from their practices as well as the relationship between insect diversity and their profitability. And we’ll ask them about their personal challenges and satisfactions. You’ll have chances to ask them questions of your own as well.

This webinar concludes our series of programming on farming and insect life. And it is part of a larger set of educational offerings being provided with special attention to farmland owners, both public and private. We believe that farmland ownership bring stewardship responsibility and also the opportunity to be part of the movement to create a form of agriculture that is better for the land, the health of families, communities, and farmers.
