Herding Conservation Together: How to Help Farmers Get Started with Regenerative Grazing

Interest in regenerative grazing is growing. Putting animals on the land is key to soil health, and livestock prices make it an attractive time for farmers to give it a try. There are many environmental and economic reasons for a farmer to integrate livestock into their operation.

How can conservation professionals support farmers in making the leap and being successful?

Clare Lindahl, CEO of the Soil and Water Conservation Society, will sit down with SWCS Member and Emerging Leader Alum Tom Shea of the National Grazing Coalition (NatGLC) to talk about how we, as farmer advisors, can help a farmer have success with livestock integration.

Tom will share how farmers are getting started, which practices help bust the age-old myth that livestock keeps you tied to the farm, and the top questions that come up as producers implement grazing systems. He’ll also draw on his coast-to-coast experience working with farmers to strengthen the bridge between conservation and livestock production.
