Website Manager

The Savanna Institute seeks a website manager to manage Savanna Institute’s website and associated software with Communications and Administration, support Savanna Institute’s donor database transition with Development and Administration, coordinate social media and digital advertising with Communications Team, and provide additional overhead and support.

Imagery Analyst (Agricultural / Ecological)

There is major potential for the expansion of agroforestry systems in the coming years and decades, and the Savanna Institute’s research team is working to prepare the improved tree crop varieties, better agroforestry practices, and refined ecosystem services estimates needed to support this scale-up. Digital imagery analysis, using a diversity of imagery types, methods, and scales, is fundamental to our plans. The Imagery Analyst will work with plant breeding and genetics researchers to develop and implement scalable phenotyping protocols for assessing breeding objectives of tree and shrub plants. In addition they will work with the agronomy and agroecology research program and with ecosystem services researchers.

Tree Crop Breeder – Madison / Southwestern WI

The Savanna Institute (SI) is making a cluster hire of two Tree Crop Breeders as it expands its Tree Crop Improvement Program. These positions will work to directly support cultivar development for these six tree and shrub crop species that have the potential to play critical roles in agroforestry systems. These positions will work closely with the existing Tree Crop Improvement Program team, including a tree crop geneticist, a germplasm specialist, and two research technicians, along with the broader SI Research team and the SI Spring Green Campus farm crew.
