ISAP’s New Soil Health Specialist

ISAP has some exciting news to share!

Our awesome partners, IL Corn and TNC, were able to work together to implement an Illinois-dedicated Soil Health Specialist!

Jim Isermann will be ISAP’s new Soil Health Specialist covering Illinois through December 2021. Jim most recently was a Field Manager for the Soil Health Partnership across Illinois. He graduated from the University of Illinois in 2002 with a Bachelor’s degree in Crop Sciences, and returned home to work on the family farm with his father. He has experience working with cover crops in his previous roles with SHP and as a seed dealer, as well as utilizing annuals and other forages in grazing systems. He currently has a 65-head cow-calf operation. The farm includes 900 acres in Livingston and LaSalle Counties, with 120 acres in permanent forage; the rest are in a corn-soy rotation.
