Leadership for Midwestern Watersheds

Many agricultural water quality projects in the Midwest have used the NRCS Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP), with successes and challenges in meeting the program’s full potential. Recent federal legislation will increase RCPP funding five-fold over the next four years, with potentially more flexibility for innovative projects.

We invite you to join an online Leadership for Midwestern Watersheds meeting on May 24th to guide project leaders in developing new RCPP proposals. Whether you might lead a project yourself or team up with a lead partner, this meeting will offer:

  • Updates from the NRCS about program priorities, requirements, and adjustments
  • Advice from project leaders using both the “classic” and “alternative funding arrangement” RCPP options
  • Tools for tracking environmental, economic, and social outcomes
  • Tips for forming partnerships and proposals that fit with RCPP objectives

As for in-person meetings, Sand County Foundation and partners are making plans for two LMW gatherings in late 2023. Stay tuned for updates!
