Knox Nutrient Stewardship Field Day

Knox County Farm Bureau (CFB) continues to support cover crop implementation and outreach through their Young Farmers Cover Crop Project. The project has provided financial and technical support for growers across the county, with the goal of implementing one cover crop plot in each township.

This year’s field day will share updates from the project, as well as information about local watershed planning efforts. Dr. Giovani Preza-Fontes, an Assistant Professor and Field Crops Extension Agronomist with the University of Illinois (U of I), will join us to present on some of his past findings and future research goals. Project leaders will also lead a guided discussion with the audience aimed at sharing information about the cover crop project and future research objectives.
