Conservation Planning and Cover Crop Field Day – Iowa
Matt and Nancy Bohl-Bormann, Iowa Learning Farms farmer partners, will share their experiences with cover crops and whole farm conservation. Angie Rieck-Hinz will discuss different conservation practices and how to work those into leases. Ann Johanns, program specialist with ISU Extension and Outreach, will speak about planning for conservation leases and the Ag Decision Maker. Brian Tumey, soil conservationist with NRCS in Algona, will present the rainfall simulator highlighting rainfall on different soil management effects.
The Bormann Farm is located at 1307 130th Ave., Bode. From Algona, travel 6 miles south on Highway 169. Turn east on blacktop B58 (150th St.) for 1 mile and travel south 1 mile on 130th Ave. The farm is on the west side of the road.
