Connecting Tile to Conservation

The public is invited to attend a conservation practice field day at one of the newest Smart Wetlands. this tile-treatment was built in 2021, is located on cropland in western Marshall County, IL.

Get a close-up view of how the water flows into and out of the wetland. See the wildlife habitat provided by the native vegetation. Learn how the wetland removes nitrate from ag tile drainage water, and meet and ask the farmer and wetland designer questions!
