The mission of the Piatt County Soil & Water Conservation District is to provide education, leadership, and assistance to people to protect and promote the wise use of our soil, water, air, plant, and animal resources The Resource Conservationist will provide technical assistance to enrolled cooperators in the State led conservation programs. This position is about 40% in the field conducting field evaluations, surveys, and designs. Certifications are required to sign off on work independently and education will be provided by NRCS. You must be willing to complete NRCS course work for certification. The Resource Conservation provides guidance to office staff and supports the admin coordinator in many conservation events throughout the year such as fish & tree sales, oil/tire recycling, electronics recycling events, & more. This job does qualify for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program.
